The Explorer section is not directly a section of an individual group, but more of a district section affliated to a group. 1st Wonersh play host to the Surrey Hills Explorer Unit. The Explorer Leader is Ken Worringham and we are particularly lucky in the fact that Ken has been a member of 1st Wonersh for a considerable time and given a tremendous number of years to the group and scouting in general.
He is a supported by Pam Dedman, who is also the District Commissioner for Guildford East, our district. Pam is also the wife of Dave Dedman, one of our Assistant Scout Leaders.
Explorers are encouraged to self manage, arrange their own agenda's, camps etc and their activities are often far reaching, adventurous and can involve international travel.
